Nepal Earthquake Appeal
All We Can is responding to the 2015 earthquakes that devastated large areas of Nepal through our experienced humanitarian aid partners.
Please give to our Nepal Earthquake Appeal
Your gift will enable us to respond quickly to the crisis.
The 25 April 2015 earthquake, the worst in 81 years, caused devastation in the capital city Kathmandu as well as in isolated mountain areas of the country including Gorkha district. The epicentre of the earthquake, which measured 7.8 in magnitude, centred around 50 miles east of the second city, Pokhara. Over 8000 people are already known to have died, and thousands of homes and public buildings have been damaged or destroyed.
A second earthquake on 12 May, with its epicentre further east, caused further fear and devastation.
All We Can has been supporting partners working in this region for a number of years and is responding to the humanitarian crisis through them, drawing on their local knowledge and expertise to ensure an effective and sustained response.
We provided immediate relief to some of the most affected communities, including distributing food, tarpaulin sheets and mosquito nets to those in need. We also supported teams from our partner Kopila, which has expertise in trauma management and mental health issues, to provide emergency counselling to survivors.
In more recent months All We Can has been supporting the longer-term rebuilding and recovery work necessary through three of our international humanitarian aid partners.
Gifts to our emergency appeal will enable All We Can and our partners to continue to respond to those in greatest need. Many still remain without adequate housing. Please give all you can.
Thank you for your support.
