London calling: Running shoes at the ready

7 July 2017

This Sunday it is the British 10K in London and All We Can are very excited!

Our 2016 Team celebrating having completed the British 10K

Our 2016 Team celebrating having completed the British 10K

This year the race is a British street party with a twist. Runners will start at Piccadilly and race all the way to Whitehall, taking in the sights of Trafalgar Square, St James’s Palace and Westminster Abbey, plus many more on the way.  The race is 10km long and mostly flat, along the course there will be entertainment and music to encourage the runners to keep going. As always the event is sure to draw a big crowd - the cheering and support will certainly be appreciated by all those running on what looks set to be a warm day in London.

We are proud that we have our very own team of supporters running in the race this year. The super six are: Olivia Carson, Thomas Lloyd, Inderjit Bhogal, Liamarjit Bhogal, Patrick Stonehewer and Rachel Parkinson. All have all kindly agreed to run the race and raise money for All We Can. We hope that all our runners have a fantastic time running on our behalf and that the weather stays nice (but not too nice) for them all. All We Can will be there supporting and cheering our runners on so do keep an eye on our social media for some race day photos.

Sponsored events like the British 10k are a fantastic way to raise money for All We Can and make a difference to some of the world’s poorest communities. However, you don’t have to be a runner to be able to take part in a sponsored event- why not try a sponsored swim or dance-a-thon? If you would like some ideas on how you can get involved why not have a look at some of the fundraising stories from other supporters. From bike rides to sky dives, there is plenty to get you inspired. If you already have an idea for a sponsored event why not take a look at our fundraising guide which is full of useful hints and tips to help you plan your event.
