All We Can Online Auction
Art Auction: ‘Abundance’ by Revd Michaela Youngson
For Methodist Conference 2020, the Revd Michaela Youngson, former President of the Methodist Conference, a Methodist Minister (Chair of the London District), an author, broadcaster, glass artist and a great friend of All We Can, has produced this piece of glass art called ‘Abundance’. It is made up of beautiful glass elements that have been lovingly put together and then fired to a very high temperature in a kiln.
The piece is about the size of an A4 piece of paper and has been crafted by utilising lots of skilled techniques to make each of the elements. Michaela is also working with Sandy Youngson, a skilled fine furniture maker, to make a stand for the artwork in wood.
Speaking about the artwork and her support of All We Can, Revd Michaela says: ‘As I think of the work of All We Can, I know that it is because of God’s abundance and generosity that the world is such a diverse and plentiful place. As Christians, we are called to respond in penitence and gratitude to that abundance by generously sharing all we have with our brothers and sisters who struggle through the unjust systems of our world. My visit to Jordan with All We Can to meet refugees from Syria, was life-changing and inspiring and I’m delighted to continue to support All We Can in any way I can.’
