It’s a wonderful, warm July day. The weather is suspended in a perfect, delicate balance between the cool of the morning and the very beginnings of the afternoon heat. You’re outside, making the most of this gorgeous day and enjoying every minute of it. You’re in London’s beautiful centre, taking in some of the nation’s most iconic landmarks. And you’re running. With every step you take, you can hear cheers ring out, getting louder and louder. You see people all around you, running past you, toward the same goal. You move ever closer to a finish line. You cross it. You’re a hero.
This might sound like a fantasy – your ultimate new year’s resolution fulfilled, or a distant daydream you’ve entertained whilst whiling away the hours. But it doesn’t have to be. Every year, an intrepid team of All We Can supporters take to the streets of London to participate in the Virgin Sport British 10k. The route is fun, fast and flat, with a fantastic party atmosphere and music at every mile. If you’re just starting out as a runner, this is a great race to cut your teeth on; likewise, even seasoned marathon professionals can’t help but enjoy the stunning route and friendly atmosphere.
The best part is that regardless of when you finish, you are a hero. By running for All We Can, you will be raising money for people living in some of the world’s poorest communities. All your training, your commitment and your hours of preparation will have a truly life-changing impact on the communities that All We Can supports. Last year, six superstar runners raised more than £5,000 for vulnerable and marginalised people across the globe – this year, we want to raise even more, and change even more lives.
