Lent Appeal 2019
For people like Chikumbutso and Monica, your gift could ensure an ongoing means of growing food for the family and an ability to support their children through school.
Chikumbutso and Monica live in rural Malawi working hard every day to overcome the challenges of poverty. But their hard work is not enough and their family struggles day to day to have enough food and a stable income to support their children through school. Thanks to supporters like you families like Chikumbutso and Monica can receive seeds, fertiliser and training in improved farming techniques so they can grow better harvests. With improved harvests, families have nutritious food to eat and the extra can be sold at a profit helping to pay for children’s school fees.
As the local project worker Chimwemwe, who is helping Chikumbutso and Monica, says, “One-off gifts are good for times of emergency, but regular giving is needed to help end poverty and transform villages like Mulukwa”.
Regular gifts offer a committed friendship with our global neighbours, ensuring that we are present in the wilderness times, helping to be part of their journey of transition towards a better life.
Please give what you can to help families like Chikumbutso and Monica’s to overcome the challenges of poverty and to fulfil their God-given potential.
