The Gift of Education
Make a difference this year.
Will you give the gift of education to a girl like Sitera?
The start of a new year provides us with a timely chance to reflect on the blessings which we enjoy on a daily basis.
The comfort and warmth of our homes, our nourishing food and the opportunities we have had throughout the year to learn and grow – these are all things which we might take for granted.
But for many girls, the chance to learn is denied to them – with devastating consequences.
Sitera is a teenage mother, born into a desperately poor family in rural Malawi. When she was still a child, her mother passed away, leaving her father to care for Sitera and her siblings alone. Her father struggled to feed his family whilst paying for Sitera’s school fees.
Sitera dropped out of school at just nine years old – closing the door on her education, and limiting her future potential. When girls like Sitera drop out of school, they face a future where every day is a struggle.
Your gift today can transform the future for girls like Sitera, by giving them the chance to attend special classes where they can learn vital literacy, numeracy and life skills.
Jesus himself reminds us that ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive’. Please remember girls like Sitera as we start this new year – and give a gift that will open up their future, giving them the skills they need to embrace their God-given potential.
