A prayer for International Women’s Day

International Women's Day is an annual celebration of women's achievements across the globe, and an opportunity to highlight work that still needs to be done to achieve gender equality. It takes place on March 8 each year.

Almighty God,

We lift our hands up high in praise and worship.
We give you thanks for the women in our lives and communities.
We lift our hands up high to show that we are in, and committed to seeing a gender equal world.
We thank you for women who have led the way when the path was uncertain.
We give thanks for women like Najjiba, who inspires and leads All We Can’s local partner FABIO in Uganda.
Help us to celebrate women;
Give us wisdom to see bias and the voice to speak up against it;
Equip us to take action to seek equality,
And boldness to challenge where needed.
We are all one in Christ Jesus.
We lift our hands up high in praise and worship.
Amen.
