Turning your church green

As part of All We Can’s Lent devotional series, Stratford Methodist Church share their journey to becoming an Eco Church.

Is your church already conscious of the climate crisis? Have you already begun the process of ‘going green’? Radical change takes time, endurance and commitment.

It has been a 15 year ‘eco’ journey for Stratford Methodist Church. It began with the belief that matter matters to God.

A small dedicated group of enthusiasts led the way from one initiative to the next and ensured that the whole congregation were kept informed and encouraged especially on green issues.

Using the A Rocha Eco Church scheme meant they had all the resources, information and support they needed to take on the challenge of going green.

What could you do to encourage your church to explore making more ecologically friendly choices?
