What is God calling you to do?

As part of All We Can’s Lent devotional series, Revd Helen Cameron, Chair of the Northampton District of the Methodist Church, reflects on Matthew 21:28-32 and what it means for us.

The parables of Jesus can be described as being like holding a great truth in a small place. The great truth held and contained in this story is what we do matters more than what we say we will do.

How often do you change your mind? You say you will do something but forget or choose not to. Or the opposite – you turn down an opportunity and then reverse your decision.

Remember that holiness is simply a life lived from a place of gratitude and generosity emerging from a knowledge that God forgives, accepts and sets us free to live and love as God does.

Do your actions match what you say and believe? Clench your fist and slowly open it. What great truth from God are you wanting to learn today?
