Nasuuha used to be anxious to attend school during her period for fear of being laughed at or ruining her uniform. Her parents couldn’t always afford to buy her disposable menstrual pads, so sometimes she would have to use pieces of old clothes, which weren’t comfortable or hygienic. Because of this, she would sometimes miss school during her period, an all too present reality for girls in Uganda. During a training led by All We Can’s partner, Concern for Children and Women Empowerment (COFCAWE), Nasuuha learnt how to make reusable menstrual pads. She now no longer has to miss out on her education and has exciting hopes for the future.
