Paul Richards

Engagement Officer

Paul engages people and churches across London and the South East. He is also training to be a Methodist local preacher. Previously he worked in social care for 30 years and founded Stay Up Late, a charity advocating for people with learning disabilities to live active social lives. He also created the Gig Buddies volunteering model, now active in eight countries. A former member of the punk band Heavy Load (made up of musicians with and without learning disabilities), Paul is passionate about inclusion and using unconventional approaches to drive change.

Outside of work and preaching, Paul plays piano at his local church and enjoys walks on the downs with his dog. He’s married with four grown-up children.
