All We Can is thrilled to welcome four new trustees to its board. Revd Dr Sahr Yambasu, Holly Wilkinson, Ali Johnson and Anne Mpendo will bring an impressive range of experiences to the table, and will help the charity continue working towards its vision of seeing every person’s potential fulfilled.
Revd Dr Sahr Yambasu, the current President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, will join All We Can’s Programmes and Partnerships Committee. Born in Sierra Leone, Sahr moved to Ireland in 1995 following the civil war, and has spent much of his life studying, challenging and addressing the causes and effects of poverty – both in Sierra Leone and Europe.
Holly Wilkinson and Ali Johnson will both join All We Can’s Public Engagement Committee, helping shape the charity’s fundraising and communications work, and sharing the fantastic work of All We Can’s local partners with more people. Holly works as a Communications Officer for the Fundraising Regulator, and has worked in fundraising and communications roles across several charities. Ali Johnson works for Cliff College as a digital evangelist, and is also a freelance digital consultant – helping churches including the Methodist Church in Britain run digital projects. His roles involve equipping the Church to see digital as tool for sharing faith.
Anne Mpendo will be joining All We Can’s Governance Committee. Anne is a financial sector development and integration expert with over twenty years of leadership and experience in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan). This experience has entailed working with leading development partners, governments, academia, civil society organizations and the media in the East African Community Partner States to create a single investment space for the bank and non-bank financial subsectors. This has meant working with state and non-state actors in adhering to international standards in developing legal and regulatory frameworks, financial inclusion, integration of financial markets infrastructure and capacity building among others. From commercialisation of microfinance institutions, development of capital markets, to integration of financial markets infrastructure, her focus has always been on enabling finance for development to ensure that goods, products and services can be made available to all people, natural and legal.
Speaking about the new trustees, All We Can’s Chief Executive Graeme Hodge said ‘We are delighted to welcome these four incredible individuals to our Board of Trustees. Their skills, talents, wisdom and insight will help All We Can grow from strength to strength, as we seek to put our 2020-25 strategy in to practice. Myself and the rest of the team are greatly looking forward to working with them.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank our trustees Revd Dr Stephen Skuce, Claire Boxall and Richard Vautrey, as they end their terms as trustees, for their service and commitment to the work of All We Can over the years, and wish them all the best for their future ventures.’
