First African Bicycle Information Organisation (FABIO)
FABIO began in 1994 as a bicycle workshop and has grown into a charity advocating for inclusive non-motorised transport in Uganda. It uses bicycles to improve lives for people in poor households, including supporting community health through easier transport for health workers and increasing access to health centres. It also promotes bicycles to help vulnerable children, especially girls, attend school and improve retention by reducing the burden of long travel distances.
