SHE x Methodist Women in Britain
Together, we’re supporting women and girls to shape their own futures
The Southampton District of Methodist Women in Britain (MWiB) has committed to fundraise for SHE in 2026-27 to celebrate the strength, creativity, and potential of women and girls around the world.
Through this partnership, Southampton MWiB is helping shine a light on the work of All We Can’s local partners, who are working alongside women and girls in communities affected by poverty and inequality.
From education and vocational training to entrepreneurship and menstrual health, this work is helping women and girls access the resources, skills, and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.
The partnership between SHE and Southampton MWiB is an opportunity to bring together two communities with a shared commitment to gender equality, justice, and the dignity and agency of women and girls.
Project spotlight: SafePads
Helping girls stay in school, grow and thrive
In Uganda, All We Can’s local partner COFCAWE is tackling period poverty through its SafePads initiative, training girls to make their own reusable sanitary pads.
For girls living in rural communities, access to basic menstrual products can be a significant challenge. The lack of affordable essential items like sanitary pads can mean girls skip classes or leave school altogether, limiting their future opportunities and leaving them more vulnerable to exploitation.
By learning to produce reusable sanitary pads through COFCAWE's SafePads initiative, girls are able to manage their periods safely and confidently. This helps them maintain cleanliness and dignity during menstruation, reduce the risk of infections and discomfort, and stay in school.
