Sustainable Multi-sectoral Actions for Development (SMAD)

SMAD is a community development organisation founded in 2009 that empowers poor and vulnerable communities, especially smallholder farmers, women and children, to improve health, income and food security through integrated community-based interventions. It targets post-harvest losses by training farmers in appropriate technologies and supports self-help credit groups to build saving culture and improve access to financial services. It also supports climate adaptation strategies and works to reduce infant and maternal mortality linked to poor water, nutrition and hygiene practices.
